Spay & Neuter Abandoned Cats

Donation protected
Hello,
We are trying to raise funds to have many neighborhood cats spayed and neutered!
We have a very irresponsible neighbor who has a pattern of getting cute kittens, then about 9 months later tossing them out of the house because they no longer want them! The poor kitties are not only tossed out into the weather after being indoors, then they have to find enough food for all of them. Sadly, we all know that 2 adorable kittens can grow and create MANY more!!! Right now we are counting about 12+ cats that have been turned out.

These cats are basically just roaming into the neighbor's yards, but mostly our yard because we already feed many cats that were a product of this very same situation a few years ago. The same people turned out their cats and we ended up dealing with 19 cats, getting them fixed, finding some of them homes and getting an outdoor building designed for their shelter during bad weather etc. They are a few years old now and we continue to feed them. Of course, the newly abandoned cats know our feeding times and come over to try to get some food, sometimes fighting with the cats we already feed. I'm sure that's just a natural thing for them to do when they are hungry, or sadly are now pregnant and hungry, or have had more babies to feed!!

We are thinking that the 4 or us cats they turned out this time have now turned into about 12 cats, and we think about 3 are pregnant at this point. WE NEED TO GET THEM FIXED AND AVOID EVEN MORE HUNGRY CATS!!

I have talked to local shelters, SPCA, Cat's Cradle, and Animal Control...basically these neighbors cannot be held responsible for anything that now needs to be done. So now it's our problem to deal with. I have been able to get a special allowance thru the groups I've talked to for a $40 per cat fee to get one cat spayed/neutered and a rabies shot. This is definitely a good deal...but for 12-15 cats it surely adds up fast!!

I struggle with the issue of feeling like why should we have to fix this problem, but I have to just focus on trying to get these cats fixed right now. It will take a good amount of time and energy on our part to get them trapped and booked into the SPCA this Winter to be fixed. Once they are fixed, we are more than happy to continue feeding them, as they will start to co-exist better with our previous cats.

We are hoping to raise enough money to get all these cats fixed. If anyone has a soft spot for animals and would like to maybe sponsor just one cat at $40 that would be awesome!!!

If we are fortunate enough to raise enough to pay for all the spay/neuters, then anything above that will certainly go toward feeding them!! We order cat food by the case now and it goes fast! So if anyone would prefer to just maybe donate $25 for a case, that would also be very helpful. Just make a note as to where you would like your donation to go.

ANY AMOUNT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED IN THIS PROJECT!!!
