QTCareHouse Clinic Fund!

We are QTCareHouse, and we are calling on our extended networks for financial support in order to continue to grow our vision! Thank you for helping us to reach our initial fundraising goal of $5000. We've re-opened our fundraiser with a new goal of $10000 and are inviting you to contribute so that we can sustain our work and offerings through 2024!

QTCareHouse is a collective of LGBTQ+ folks committed to creating joyful, affirming, and accessible spaces for our Queer and Trans New Orleanians to gather, connect, and receive care. The services we provide include massage therapy, acupuncture, counseling, divination, herbal and natural therapies, harm reduction, and more. In 2023, we put together 4 wonderful clinics that brought together so many members of our Community, and we have a fifth clinic on the Horizon in April 2024.

We believe that holistic care - that is, care that takes into account a whole person - their physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, and environmental well-Being - should be accessible to All people, regardless of financial circumstance. In alignment with our values, the Community Care Clinics have been completely free of charge, and practitioners have generously donated their time. While we will maintain free or low-cost entry, we believe that our Practitioners should be paid for the loving and valuable services that they offer. We've set a goal of $5000, which we will use to pay Practitioners who run the clinics and to cover Operational costs (space rental, cleaning supplies/materials, snacks for practitioners and guests, copying/printing). Any additional money that we raise will be used as seed money as we create additional opportunities for our community of LGBTQ+ practitioners to tap into our collective brilliance in bringing prismatic, sweet, fabulous, and absolutely essential care to as many folks in our New Orleans community as possible and beyond. Some ideas that we've earmarked for additional funds we raise include a Transportation fund to help LGBTQ+ folks who live in the greater New Orleans area or elsewhere in Louisiana to travel to the city to attend our clinics, community classes to help folks self-educate in community care practices, a meal fund, and the eventual dream of opening a brick and mortar LGBTQ+ clinic and community space right here in our City.

More than 500 anti-LGBTQ bills have been introduced in State Legislatures in 2023 alone, and many of these are concentrated in the South. Our vision as QTCareHouse is to create and sustain Community through this crisis that we are navigating. These are very challenging times, and we will continue to love on each other through them, to dance wildly and cry Loud. We know that for our Community, the Clubs and the Nightlife are spaces where we access and assert our Freedom, where we go to find connection, release and recharge. We hope that our Clinics can be a supplemental, alternative space where our people can find balance and participate in collective dreaming and celebration. We celebrate ourselves, the beauty and resilience of our Community, the majesty and diversity of our physical Bodies, and the many brilliant possibilities that our futures hold. We hope that you will join us in our Celebration and by supporting the evolution of our vision!
