Tracy Dinelle of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario passed away from breast cancer on June 21-2016 at the age of 52. During her 4 year battle Tracy realized the stress and financial burden associated with parking costs for so many appointments a cancer patient must attend. Tracy started Tracy's Dream in Jan. 2015
Tracy’s Dream, has been developed to help support cancer patients with parking costs while attending treatments at the Algoma District Cancer Program. Tracy Dinelle’s hope was that through this initiative, she could help others by lessening their burden. “I would like to help cancer patients have a stress-free day while they are having their treatments,”
Tracy's Dream has been providing community service for well over 5 years. I will tell you from our records that there has been no decrease in the need for this service. To date Tracy's Dream has been able to provide financial support for parking costs at Sault Area Hospital on 2885 occasions. We know through our data that the average amount of visits to the SAH Cancer Clinic are 7.9 in 30 days. In dollars that is $47.32 per occasion.
To date Tracy's Dream has provided over 14,000 parking tokens and well over 700 monthly parking passes to cancer patients at a cost of over $136,000.00. Tracy's Dream with the ongoing community support continues to provide this service on a daily basis.
Although our fundraising events and other events planned by community minded people and groups to help support Tracy's Dream have been hampered by the Covid epidemic many have found ways to provide support for us. We are very grateful for all those selfless efforts from our community.
Your support would be greatly appreciated.
