Meet Vladimir Trubin, a dedicated firefighter at the La Verne Fire Department in California. Vladimir is passionate about promoting physical fitness, mental health, and raising awareness for PTSD among his fellow firefighters and the community at large.
After witnessing the impact of PTSD on his colleagues and their families, Vladimir knew he had to take action. He decided to challenge firefighters to participate in a stair climb challenge to raise awareness and funds for physical fitness, mental health programs, and PTSD.
This year, Vladimir and his team will be participating in the first FDNY Foundation climb to summit the Vanderbilt Building. This 1100-foot skyscraper has 3291 steps and is an incredibly challenging and physically demanding activity, especially when wearing full firefighter gear, including a breathing apparatus.
The climb will be a testament to the endurance and dedication of firefighters in supporting one another and their cause. Through this event, Vladimir hopes to raise awareness for the importance of physical fitness, mental health, and PTSD support in the firefighting community.
Please consider donating to the FDNY Foundation to support their efforts in helping firefighters stay safe, prepared, and supported. Your donation will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of firefighters across the country. Thank you for your support.
