It is with extremely heavy hearts we set up this memorial fund in order to preserve Tom Hendricks’s lifelong work and legacy with the Hendricks Mining Company at the Cross and Caribou Mine and the expenses his small family now faces.
Thomas Scott Hendricks passed suddenly on Monday, January 6, 2020 in the warmth of his loving home in Nederland, Colorado. He is survived by his devoted wife Serah Hendricks and their young son, Thomas Alberto Hendricks, age 4, Maggi Hendricks (daughter), and his deceased brother Herb’s family: Peggy, Jessica, Heather, and Tommy Hendricks.
This fund is to help with the many costs and expenses that face Serah and young Thomas following Tom’s death.
It is also to help preserve Tom’s nearly 60 years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears spent at the Cross and Caribou Mine. His legacy at mine is at stake and his family is determined to retain the integrity Tom Hendricks worked his entire life to establish. An original prospector, Miner Tom had a heart of gold, and devoted his entire life to providing for his family and his golden pursuits at the mine.
We are reaching out to the community to rally help and support!

Child Care
Animal Care
Maintenance Costs

These are among a mounting list of financial woes and uncertainties the family faces.

It has been brought to the attention of the Hendricks' family that fraudulent charities have been started in Tom Hendricks’ name. These are not approved nor condoned by his family. This is the only fund set up for Tom Hendricks. During this extremely tough time, it’s hard to even stomach that others are trying to use Tom’s name and legacy for a gain of their own. Tom would give the shirt off his back in order to help others, and was the king of helping others in any way he could. It's awful to think people would take advantage of him, even in death.
It breaks our hearts and we just hope we can work together to rally around Tom and his family to preserve his legacy.
