Fundraiser for Fe Dizon
Love and Prayers for our Mom Fe Dizon
We , the Dizon family, are humbly asking for your prayers and help our Mom’s medical expenses. She had a stroke and is currently in ICU at Metro North Hospital.
Mommy Fe experienced dizziness and vomiting on the night of September 28, 2020 at around 11pm. She was rushed to the E.R the next day at around 1pm due to continous symptoms of nausea, vomiting and showed physical weaknesses. ECG was requested to monitor her heart, the results were normal but her BP were high.
On the CT scan showed infarction of the cerebellum (stroke),so the Neuro doctor immediately ordered for an admission to the ICU for close monitoring treatment. Her status on that day was ok with GCS score of 15 and She was still very cooperative .
October 1 2020 around 6pm the hospital called informing us that Mommy Fe's GCS score dropped to 11 and that she was experiencing headaches ,no appetite and started to fall asleep more often. Around 8 pm mommy Fe's gcs score dropped to 7. Emergency cranial plain ct scan was immiedately resquested by the doctor.
October 2 2020, GCS score is 6. The result of the 2nd ct scan showed that the cerebellar infarct had already affected the brainstem ,there were also abnormal build up fluids present on the ventricles of the brain which led to hydrocephalus.
In regards to this matter Mommy Fe is in critical conditon.
Due to affected brainstem, Mommy Fe's appetite and oxygen level is slowly decreasing. With our consent, the I.C.U staff together with the doctors have decided to perform a Nasogastric tube insertion. For this will help her with her meal and other medicines that would require for her treatment.
Since the oxygen level started to decrease at 88% Endotracheal Intubation was performed right away . With the help of the ventilator Mommy Fe's oxygen started to increase, back to the normal level of 100%.
On this same day, an appointment was set for us to meet with the Neurosurgeon in order to discuss with us the treatment possibilities for Mommy Fe's critical condition.
The Neurosurgeon gave us an option to carry out ventriculoperitoneal shunt. By doing this procedure, a tube will be placed in the brain in order to drain the excess fluid from the ventricles as well as it would reduce the swelling of the brain.
The prognosis however is not promised due to her old age and comorbidities (asthma, diabetes and hypertension). Therefore we as a family together with the help of the doctors advice, we have decided not to go through with the procedure.
For now Mommy Fe will continue with her medications ordered by her attending neuro physician.
Oct. 3, 2020 Mommy'S GCS is 7 (movement 5, eye 1, verbal 1)According to mom's pulmonoligist her assist respiration is 16 which means this is the number of breaths the machine is breathing for her but her actual respiration is 21 which means she is breathing 5 breaths per minute on her own.
Maybe the medicine that decompresses the brain is working.
Oct. 4-6, 2020 Mommy Fe's GCS 4.
Oct 7,2020 Mommy Fe' GCS is 8.
Miraculously, a sign coming from God showed a major improvement on Mom’s condition. After 5 days of being comatose, she opened her eyes and squeezed the hand of the nurse as a response to the verbal cues.
At this time, mommy Fe is still in ICU at the critical condition. She is still on ventilator.
Please continue to pray for Mommy Fe.
We continue to knock on Heaven’s door with prayers for Mommy Fe’s miraculous healing
Thank you so much !!!
