Bringing Our Brother Home

Donation protected
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother, Willie J. Thomas. Willie, an accomplished educator who had a passion for languages, was 63 years old and the eldest of eight siblings.

His journey began in Chicago, where he grew up and later graduated from Southern Illinois University. Willie's love for teaching Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Latin took him on travels around the world, ultimately leading him to settle in Brazil 25 years ago.

As we mourn his loss, we are also undertaking the task of bringing him back to his roots in the Chicago area. Our younger brother, Johnnie, is in Brazil, arranging to bring Willie home.

Previously, we were seeking support to transport Willie, a critical patient, from Brazil to Chicago for world-class medical care and the comfort of being near family. However, in light of his passing, we now focus on bringing him home for a final farewell.

We appreciate the support of our friends, family, and community during this challenging time, as we strive to honor Willie's memory and legacy.
