Send Fear Factory to DI Globals!!

Help Team Fear Factory get to the Destination Imagination Global Finals Tournament in Knoxville, TN at the end of May!!  Team Fear Factory is the first team from our elementary school to make it through the Regional and State Tournaments to the Global Tournament.  It's a BIG accomplishment!  Please Help them go the next step!!

Destination Imagination is an organization that promotes creative and critical thinking skills in young students by issuing challenges in different categories, such as structural, scientific, technical, improvisational arts and fine arts.  Teams of up to seven students compete to find the best solution to the challenge.

Team Fear Factory competed in the Fine Arts Challenge.  They created an original "Feary Tale" encompassing the elements of a fairy tale to tell their story.  One character from their tale needed to deal with a phobia (real or imagined).  Their tale had to include team created expressive artwork, functional artwork and an illusion.   The team members were responsible for every aspect of the team's solution.  It took months for their solution to be brainstormed, written, created, built, produced and practiced. 

In addition to the main challenge, teams compete in an "Instant Challenge" which can be performance based, task based or a combination of the two.  The teams go in to the challenge knowing nothing about it and are given a list of things to accomplish and/or build within a few minutes. 

Team Fear Factory's hardwork paid off at the Regional Tournament in March, when they won 1st place for their creative out-of-the-box solutions to both the main and instant challenges.  After making some improvements to their props and performance, the team went on to win 2nd place at the State Tournament in April which won them a spot to compete at the GLOBAL level in May. 

We need to get 6 members of the this team of incredibly smart, creative 10-year olds and two team leaders across the state for this 4-day event!  It will cost approximately $750 per person (includes housing, meals, event passes, gas, etc.).   

These kids decided months ago they wanted to go to Globals and they worked hard to make it happen.  Now, they are working hard with local fundraisers. 

Please help them go the rest of the way!!  Every little bit helps!!
