Feed a family in Madagascar on Christmas
Donation protected
What is this all about?
We are doing a fundraiser to provide Christmas meals for families in need in Madagascar.
Why on Christmas day? The people we are providing meals for are just trying to survive day to day. Some days they may go hungry, or skip meals due to lack of food. Not having anything to eat on a holiday where people are supposed to be celebrating causes a feeling of despair that is hard to describe.
In 2019 we raised $1055 to cheer up and feed over 100 families. Sadly, last year, with the pandemic we were unable to do dinner fundraising. This year we would like them to know that they are not forgotten.
With the money we raised in 2019, we distributed rice, whole chickens, and candies to some of the poorest of the poor. This year we are hoping to increase that number and be able to feed 150 families for about $1500.
The project this year is a little different. Instead of hosting a fundraising dinner, we are going to do dinner take out and treats. This is an opportunity for you, your family and friends to try Malagasy food and bless many souls!
Please add what you would like to order in the comments section by your donation amount. Orders for food must be placed by December 15th, but donations are welcomed throughout the season!
Dinner for 2 Costs $50:
Amuse bouche: 4 Malagasy Sambos (Not Gluten free )
Entry: chicken coconut curry with peanuts and diced mangoes served with a side of rice (gluten-free )
Dessert: 4 deep-fried cassava with coconut (gluten-free )
Treats:
1 dozen Deep Fried cassava with coconut $18 (gluten-free)
1 Dozen sambos $20 (has gluten)
Take-out orders can be picked up on December 20th from 6-8 p.m. at the Peckham Community Center, 715 Everett Street, Caldwell. Don’t want to get out of your car? Pull up curbside and call [phone redacted]. We’ll bring your order out to you!
Please specify what you’d like to order in the comments section next to your donation; this can be made private. You can also text me at [phone redacted]
Thank you!
