FEED and FREE Dionte
Donation protected
Dionte Bailey Brown, 23 years old, is currently in the Erie County Holding Center with no court date in sight.
Anyone who knows Dionte probably knows how passionate he is about veganism. As an empath, he believes that kindness to animals is equally as important as kindness to humans. While in ECHC, we want to make sure that Tae is fed properly and, most importantly, that he has legal representation for his upcoming trial.
All funds will go directly to Dionte's family to be used for legal fees, phone call costs, and commissary, as they see fit.

-------
Right before the new year, Dionte was staying with family in the Bronx and returned to Buffalo to build himself a better life. He was linked with a mental health team at Best Self in Buffalo since the fall of 2020, as a means of helping him improve his mental and financial stability. They were actively seeking housing for him in the city of Buffalo, however, it was consistently delayed. Yet, homeless or not, he was returning to continue working with his team toward a sustainable future.
Dionte returned to Buffalo on the night of December 28th to stay with someone that he knew until he could meet with Best Self and set up an arrangement for housing. The next morning, we were told that he was detained in Erie County Holding Center.
He was riding as a passenger in a car with someone who was pulled over. Both were arrested. The driver of the car was released shortly after on $1,500 bail, yet Dionte was issued a $5,000 bail. He has been in ECHC ever since.
In the past 7 weeks, Tae has been living in the Holding Center with no trial in sight. Due to Covid delays, they WILL NOT SCHEDULE HIS TRIAL at this point. This leaves him in a cell, surrounded by outside agitations that are continuing to affect his mental health. Not to mention, he had been diagnosed with Covid this month and put in a ward of Covid prisoners (versus an infirmary)... Nobody can argue that Erie County Holding Center is not the place to be sick or need medical attention.
All donations are greatly appreciated and will go primarily towards Dionte's legal representation, and any commissary needs that his family sees fit.
We also have access to write letters to Dionte, as well as send pictures, so please feel free to reach out if you would like to send him something.
Thank you for helping Dionte be fed and be free—so that he can move towards a better life.
