Feed Davis Academic Workers on Strike
Donation protected
BREAKING: Academic workers at the University of California are on strike beginning Monday, November 14, 2022.
UC Davis academic workers from UAW 2865, UAW 5810, and Student Researchers United-UAW will be on the Davis picket lines daily from 9am to 4pm. Community support is vital to our city’s workers getting the contracts they deserve.
We ask you to join us on the picket line (info below) and donate to our meals fund. A self-organized group of academic workers and community members will cook healthy meals. We need money for ingredients, propane, hair nets, serving and cleaning supplies, etc.
Want to be a member of our cooking team? Come see us at the Russell/College picket line, and we’ll get you straight to work!
Picket lines: 1) Russell & College Park / Howard Way 2) Hutchison & LaRue

Any money left over from this fund at the end of the strike will be split evenly and donated to the following three organizations:
- Davis Night Market: The Night Market is an environmentally sustainable community-based food recovery organization.
-Sacramento’s Center for Workers’ Rights: The center strives to improve working conditions, reduce barriers to securing employment, and remedy workplace injustices for low-wage workers and their families in the greater Sacramento area.
-The Mauna Kea Legal Defense Fund: Mauna Kea is a sacred mountain in Hawai’i where the University of California and other institutions have invested in building a Thirty Meter Telescope. Since its proposal in 2014, indigenous activists have been fighting against this project. The defense fund raises funds for legal fees and other costs associated with travel to participate in hearings and to publicize legal efforts and results.
In Solidarity,
