Frappe Joe Coffee is a start-up Mediterranean inspired coffee concept. Since opening in October 2019 we have been slowly building the business model. The launch component of the model was the introduction of the food menu which was released on March 4th. A week later the bottom fell out due to covid-19.
Since opening Frappe Joe had routinely sent product over to the Emergency Room at JFK Medical Center to generate brand awareness. Over the last several months, the health care workers became our customers.
Last week, one of the Head RN's for the Emergency Room connected with us asking if we can bring them some goodies. Coffee & Donuts have always lifted Team morale. The health care workers are being pushed extra hard right now with case loads increasing. Frappe Joe jumped at the request. Thereafter, a social media post was shared by one of the ER staff members into a local Facebook community.
The outpouring of human kindness was immediate. People began coming into the store and handing money over the counter telling the team to keep the deliveries going. This in turn has allowed Frappe Joe to allocate additional staff hours, purchase from vendors, increase the variety of products being sent, and run routine deliveies to JFK Medical Center.
Since March 24th, we have made 6 deliveries to different groups at JFK Medical Center which have included Coffee, Donuts, Bagels, Bakery, and Egg Sandwhiches. On Saturday, 3/28, we sent enough product to feed 60 healthcare workers by partnering with other local businesses. We would like to keep it going.
Funds are used to offset product cost. We apply a 20% discount against the menu price which can be found online at frappe-joe.com. Frappe Joe includes multiple Coffee Box-To-Go packages with the orders but has not applied any of their coffee contributions against the monies raised. The cost of the coffee and packaging is absorbed by Frappe Joe.
The funds raised allow us to cover the cost of materials and labor during this crisis. More importantly, the efforts has boosted our team morale by keeping the momentum alive. By raising additional funds, we would like to increase the number of deliveries per day to include not only the daytime health care workers but also the evening staff. We will continue to do our part for as long as we can with your help.
Funds are needed immediately, being that frequent deliveries are being made and hospital case loads are increasing daily. This effort is a direct benefit to keep Frappe Joe staffed during the crisis and cover the cost of feeding health care workers on the front line. We are located immediately next to JFK Medical Center. Funds will also be allocated to support other neighboring businesses which we will partner with in order to diversify the menu mix being sent to our health care workers.
