FEED OUR KEY WORKERS
Donation protected
Recent press stories report that key workers, especially those on the front line, are struggling to buy basic ingredients to feed themselves, due to relentless panic buying is desperately upsetting. These incredible people are keeping the country running, against the most terrifying conditions and we all need to pull together to help support them in any way that we can.
Personally when we (Faye and Dave) are in times of crisis, we always come back to food; feed people and look after them, its all we've got.
We really want to help. We are free, as our summer of event work has been postponed, so please let us help.
From the 1st of April local key workers will be able to order ready made nutritious food, at cost, for the week, on our website www.theoccasionalkitchen.com.
We can deliver it to the key worker, or they can pick it up. We are 100% mindful of social distancing, so food can be dropped at a key workers front door/in a safe space. No contact needs to happen at all.
We are operating at cost, this is not being run for profit. As food becomes more scarcely available, prices will undoubtedly increase, but we are committed to providing 5 meals for £15/10 for £30. The food will be nutritious and healthy.
Aside from the cost of the delicious food, this charitable venture will require delivery drivers, compostable packaging and some admin to label everything. In an ideal world we would like to pay people for their petrol and time, so on that basis we would love to ask you for your help.
A small donation will go towards the running of the operation, this is to pay staff for their time and involvement. this will all be quantified and transparent.
OR
You can 'Pay it forward' and cover the cost of someones meals that day/week.
Just to be clear, this is a not for profit operation.
We need to help the most vulnerable working tirelessly to protect us, in such weird and scary times, and we need to help each other.
£15 covers 5 lunches for a key worker
£30 covers 5 lunches/5 dinners
If this does become bigger than we can handle, we plan to work with other caterers to help deliver the service in Bristol/Taunton ...
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and we hope you'd like to be a part of this initiative .
