Due to the critically needed urgent humanitarian aid in Zana, North-Western Tigray; Dekna is fundraising donations to save more than 2730 malnutrition children.

DEKNA Foundation and Mahber Tesfa has partnered with Kezahta ቀዛሕታ Media's charity (Bereket Mekonnen) to supply nutritional food for malnourished children in Tigray.

 

 

The conflict in Tigray (located in northern Ethiopia) has had a devastating impact on Tigrayan children. Preliminary reports from international agencies reveal that as of September 2021, ~200K children are malnourished, thousands of children are orphaned & thousands now have physical disabilities due to the violence. Additionally, millions need psychological help and are out of school. DEKNA (ደቅና) aims to support Tigrayan children and enable them to be healthy and competent citizens that will play a positive role in their community.

 

ትካል ገባሪ ሰናይ ማሕበር ደቅና ኣብ ትግራይን ህፃናት ትግራይን ሰፋሕቲ ሓገዛት ንምግባር ተሓሲቡ ኣብ ሃገረ Netherland ዝተመስረተ ኮይኑ ከምኡ ውን ኣብ ስሜን ኣሜሪካን ካልኦት ሃገራትን ጨንፈር እንዳኸፈተ ይርከብ :: ኣብዚ ሕጂ ድማ ቀንዲ ዕላማ ትካል ደቅና ነቶም ብሕሰምን ጥሜትን ዝሳቀዩ ዘለዉ ህፃናት ትግራይ ንምሕጋዝ ሰፊሕ ጎስጓስ እዳካየደ ይርከብ ! በዚ መሰረት ከምቲ ኩልና እንፈልጦ ኣብ ትግራይ ዝወረደ ህልቂትን መከራን ከምኡ ውን ዘሎ ዕፅዋን ክባን ተነፅሎን ልዕሊ ኩሉ ነቶም ተስፋ ናይ ፅባሕ ሓያልን ምዕብልትን ትግራይ ዝኾኑ ህፃናት ደቅና ሂወቶም ኣብ ሓደጋ ኣውዲቁዎ ይርከብ :: ስለዚ ድማ ማሕበር ደቅና ብዝተኻለ መንገዲ ምስ ቀዛሕታ ሚድያ ብምትሕብባር ንናይ ሕጂ ኣገዳሲ ቀለብን ሓይሊ ወሃብቲ ምግብታት ከምኡ ውን ንናይ መፃኢ ትምህርትን ኣካላውን ስነ ኣእምራዊ ብቃዓቶም ንምምላስ ዘድልዮም ሓገዛት ንምቅራብ ዓብይ ፃዕሪ እንዳገበረ ይርከብ :: እምበኣር ከስ ካባና ብኣና ንዓና ካብ ኮነ ብዝተኸኣለና መጠን ንደቅና ንሓግዝ !!

 

DEKNA Objectives:

Fulfilling children's basic needs by providing food, water, clothing, shelter, and health care.

Supporting children with physical disabilities.

Providing children with educational materials and mental health resources.

 

DEKNA Past Projects:

DEKNA supplied food to 157 low-income families in Mekelle, Tigray. (Youtube video available at

DEKNA supports 16 children of low-income families by providing necessities every month.

To overcome the shortage of medical supplies, DEKNA has donated medical supplies and food to families in need.

 

DEKNA is registered in the Netherlands as a non-profit, non-governmental organization (KvK: 83435085). DEKNA, Inc. is currently pending 501(c)3 status in the United States.

More about the Tigray crisis:

The Prime Minister of Ethiopia declared war on the region of Tigray (northern Ethiopia). There has been massive amounts of ethnic cleansing, weaponized starvation, weaponized use of chemical weapons on civilians, and weaponized sexual and gender-based violence against women and girls. The government of Ethiopia has invited Eritrea (located north of Tigray, Ethiopia) to help them inflict these atrocities on the Tigrayan people. Tigray's public infrastructures such as homes, schools, churches, mosques, and hospitals have been looted and bombed. The violence has caused several thousand to seek refuge in neighboring countries. Access to Tigray has been closed off. Aid that has been sent for Tigray by international agencies has been diverted and withheld from the region by the Ethiopian government.
