Feed the Fight Durham
COVID-19 is placing historic economic hardships on local restaurants and eateries throughout Durham. And at the same time, our local health care system is on the front line of this crisis. Nurses, doctors and other health care providers and workers are facing mounting physical and emotional demands.
Feed the Fight Durham NC is following a national model with the goal is to support local restaurants and to support and bolster morale for our local health care professionals during this difficult time. Feed the Fight Durham NC is raising money to pay restaurants to provide 50 $10-$15 meals at a time to be delivered to a Duke healthcare facility.
This GoFundMe page was an interim fundraising step to start fundraising. We're now partnering with Frontline Foods to accept tax-exempt donations on behalf of World Central Kitchen, founded by Chef Jose Andres. 100% of the proceeds will be invested in Durham NC. ALL donations will go directly to the restaurants. World Central Kitchen is a registered 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, EIN: 27-3521132. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your consideration!
Feed the Fight Durham NC was organized by long-time Durham residents Julia Love, Susan Branion, Lindsay Hoyle, Judy May, and Ann McLain; has a Facebook page showing it's many members, and has the support of City of Durham Mayor Steve Schewel, Duke Health and Durham VA Health Care, and many of Durham's restaurants.
