Every year Krewe du Vieux kicks off Mardi Gras by bringing its bawdy brand of satire to the streets of the French Quarter. What you may not know is that our 18 floats are accompanied by 20 different brass bands, who keep us dancing all the way. We'll miss parading this year, but we'll miss our brass band friends even more. That's why Krewe du Vieux is endorsing the efforts of Krewe of Red Beans to feed our culture bearers through their nonprofit.
Musicians and artists have been hit especially hard by the COVID-19 shut downs, and no parades means an even harder winter for lots of them. Through a special arrangement with KRB, every dollar you donate through this Go Fund Me link will go directly to provide food support to the brass bands that march with Krewe du Vieux! Our goal is to at least raise what we would have paid the bands for the 2021 parade, and hopefully a lot more.
Brass bands are the soundtrack of this city. From second lines to weddings, funerals, parades, games, clubs, parties, backyards, porches, hell, even brunch. Help us give back to the culture bearers who give us so much.
