Feed the Starving Widows and Orphans in Afghanistan
This Ramadan, I am launching my first official fundraiser for the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA), an organisation I have been working with for over a year. During this time, I have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of our work on Afghan refugees in the UK and the people we support inside Afghanistan.
For nearly 1,250 days, girls in Afghanistan have been denied access to education, and it has been over three years since the Taliban took control. The situation is dire. Families are struggling to survive, and food insecurity is at an all-time high.
Over the past two weeks alone, we have received countless messages from women and families in Afghanistan desperately seeking help, many unable to afford even the most basic necessities for Iftar, the meal that marks the end of the daily fast.
While I know that, despite the challenges of fasting, I will have a meal waiting for me, whether at home, with friends, or at a restaurant, millions in Afghanistan are going hungry. For them, Iftar is not just a spiritual moment, it is a daily struggle.
For the remaining two weeks of Ramadan, we are committed to providing essential food packages to families in Afghanistan. These packs include basics such as rice, beans, flour, and oil. For every £50 donation, we can provide enough essential food supplies to sustain a family for one week, while a £100 donation will cover two full weeks of support during this critical period.
This year, we are proud to partner with Salman Malik, a prominent comedian who has generously given a shout-out for our appeal. We are incredibly grateful for his support, which has helped us reach even more compassionate hearts.
Our goal is to raise £2,500, which will enable us to support 250 families over the next two weeks. Please give generously; your support will make a real difference.
100% of your Zakat goes directly to those in need—no middlemen, no delays.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise like these two.” (Bukhari)
