MESSAGE FROM ORGANIZERS
Due to the Coronavirus, Roho Kitchen converted overnight into a commissary kitchen for take-out meals to The Essentials and those quarantined at home. Siblings Jorge and Vanessa Montes are the founders of Roho Kitchen, a culinary abode for hands-on cooking classes. Together they share a love for food and community, and are representing the hospitality industry who have taken a massive hit.
Kiwanis Club of Cooper City, a global non-profit organization working to better the lives of children and families, is matching the first $1,000.00 donated. Rae Leveson, president of the Cooper City chapter, along with the local members are collaborating with us to connect with families and facilities in need.
Roger Pereira is truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines, tirelessly working to care for people in need. It hits home all the more as his wife Ruthy, an ICU trauma nurse and mother of two, is fighting every day for the well-being of others while risking her own health. Roger is a local business owner at Sunburst Maintenance , his business is to make yours shine.
Patricia Perez and Joe LaRocca have extensive experience working in both the healthcare and food industries for over 15 years. Patty is a registered dietitian specializing in the elderly community and Joe has managed produce companies throughout the tri-county area. They know the great impact that feeding others provides, since it is both nourishment for the body and soul. They recently spent a lot of time at hospitals in and out of state, as one of their daughters received outstanding care from all the wonderful people they came in contact with. They hope to use this platform as a way to give back and encourage others to do the same.
