Feeding Tomorrow Documentary - Final Filming Trip
OUR MISSION
We believe deeply in the transformational power of food in our lives. Our production company, Common Table Creative is raising funds to finish production of our feature documentary, Feeding Tomorrow. Feeding Tomorrow explores the most resilient, regenerative, and holistic methods of farming, healthcare, and education - providing us with a hopeful and actionable path forward in these incredibly challenging times.
We are raising funds to support our final production trip to visit storied farmer Mark Shepard at New Forest Farm, a renowned regenerative food forest in the heart of America’s “Bread Basket” in Wisconsin's Farm country. New Forest Farm is leading the way in a transition to regeneritive agriculture - growing food in harmony with nature, and the planet.
WHY WE BELIEVE SO DEEPLY IN THE MISSION
This Pandemic has made it clear to Americans - and people around the world - just how vulnerable and delicate our food and healthcare systems are. It has made clear that we must invest in resilience - both in our own personal health and that of our environment. We believe deeply that changing the way we interact with food is our first step. Over the past 3 years, our team has been filming on the most innovative farms, schools, and hospital campuses around the world documenting the future of food and health.
We are telling the stories of innovators on the front lines of Feeding Tomorrow. At New Forest Farm, Mark turned 100 Acres of conventional, chemically farmed land into a regenerative food forest. New Forest Farm is combatting helping to reverse climate change by sequestering carbon, building biodiversity, and grow healthy food for generations. His story is one of many that we are working to showcase and interweave with other innovators leading the way.
HOW THE MONEY WILL BE SPENT
The funds will go to support our final production trip as well as final editing. Anyone who makes a contribution of any size will get a special thank you at the end of the film! Due to COVID, our team has determined that the safest, most cost-effective way to finish our filming is to drive a mid-sized RV to Wisconsin from our home in Venice, California. We will be able to park on the farm and live there for 3 days while keeping a safe distance from Mark. Living on the farm will also allow us to capture the best lighting, authentic moments, and overall story. We will drive for 4 days and stop periodically along the way to go for a hike or stop at a national forest. All of the emissions from our journey will be offset by planting trees back home in California.
We will be bringing food locally from California and cook all plant-based meals throughout the journey. We will also be cooking local food from the farm once we arrive. We will also be creating a Behind The Scenes video of the entire experience and sharing it with our supporters
THANK YOU TO OUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, & SUPPORTERS
We would be deeply grateful for your support in helping us finish the journey and bringing these powerful stories to audiences around the world. In providing support, you are indeed helping us continue the great transition.
Sincerely,
Oliver, Jamer & Simon
