Feeding Virginia’s Children During COVID19 closure

Donation protected

Virginia Governor Northam announced closure of our public schools for the remainder of the academic year. This campaign is being organized to assist communities across the state in feeding those schoolchildren who are otherwise unable to eat without attending school.

I am a registered nurse in Virginia and have various other nurses across the state who are teaming with me to provide food for our school children while the schools have shut down during the COVID19 crisis. Some districts throughout our state have begun implementing measures to provide food for children. But this varies widely throughout the state (eg, some school districts are only providing one meal to students in need). I will be handling the funds myself to purchase grocery items that my nurse colleagues across the state will use to provide bagged breakfasts lunches as needed for districts not universally doing so during the shut down.

Any and all leftover funds will be used to pay off delinquent school lunch accounts for families in need of such assistance once school resumes, beginning first in Culpeper County public schools. Thank you in advance for your support for our children!
