Feeding Families

Did you know that the number of food insecure individuals in Canada has nearly doubled since 2018? Because of the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn, today there’s close to a staggering 7 million food insecure men, women, and children nationwide. Food banks are seeing a record high numbers of Canadians accessing their services for the very first time; this could easily be a close friend, a colleague, a neighbour, or a loved one. 

That’s why The Rebel Mama, B12Give, and Clean Plates Canada  have come together once again to deliver the Feeding Families campaign. We’re addressing the issue of hunger in the GTA by delivering healthy and nourishing meals directly (and safely) to households suffering from food insecurity.

The Feeding Families campaign aims to deliver enough prepared food to provide upwards of 2000 meals (both meat and vegetarian options) to food insecure households during this holiday season and beyond.

We’re using B12Give’s circular food economy to redistribute delicious meals prepared by the good people at Clean Plates Canada; they'll be safely delivered to those in need by B12Give founder, Tony Colley  . Feeding Families meals are gluten/dairy/nut free to ensure accessibility to all and cost $13 to prepare, package, and deliver. 

Our goal is to raise $25,000 before Friday, December 22, 2023, to ensure families and individuals have nutritious and lovingly prepared meals to enjoy this holiday season. 

But we won’t stop there! As you can see, our long-term goal is to raise $25,000. 

Our hope is that 1,000 gracious supporters will donate $25 (or more) to help us reach our goal. This is an ongoing issue demanding ongoing action, so the more money we raise, the more people we'll feed. Regardless of the amount, all donations make an impact and we thank you for your support!

Our first deliveries will dispatch during the week of December 18, 2023.

100% of GoFundMe contributions will be allocated to the direct purchase, preparation, and delivery of our Feeding Families meals. We plan to keep this initiative ongoing for as long as we can.
