Feed the Frontline - Laurel, MS

Feed frontline healthcare workers at South Central Regional Medical Center with meals from local restaurants.
The doctors, nurses and all workers at SCRMC are putting in long hours and risking their lives to save ours. They are making great sacrifices and taking personal risks to do their job. I should know, my dad is Chief Medical Officer at SCRMC and I see firsthand what a toll this has taken on frontline workers. Many SCRMC workers do not have adequate access to food during their shift. Dietary Services is limited during this time and closes at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Late shift workers don't get to eat in the cafeteria because it closes at 8:30 pm. That's why I want to do something to give them encouragement and show our appreciation. I also know that our local restaurants are struggling financially, I want to help them too. Let's, as a community, show SCRMC staff some love with a hot meal from our favorite local restaurants!
Will you help me so I can help them? By donating to this fund you can directly feed these frontline workers without leaving your couch! Donate today and I will take care of the rest. Here's the plan: once we have the necessary funds, we will be coordinating with hospital department heads to set up delivery dates and times. SCRMC has some new restrictions on outside food coming into the hospital, so we have already discussed with administration ways that we can deliver the food contact-free to ensure everyone's safety. As long as donations allow, we will keep scheduling and making deliveries. So please donate as you can and share this GoFundMe page with friends, co-workers, classmates, anyone! This is the time to come together and help our neighbors.
I can't wait to see what a difference we can make in our Laurel community!

Our Mission: Feeding the Frontline uses your generous donations to provide hot catered meals to healthcare workers at South Central Regional Medical Center. These healthcare providers are working tirelessly to care for our community during the COVID-19 crisis and your donations give them the comfort of a hot meal during their shift. All meals will be catered from local restaurants, so your donation supports healthcare workers and our local economy.
We're looking to provide meals for the most at-risk staff in departments such as the ICU, Emergency Room, and Environmental Services.
Suggested minimum donation is $10
Eagle Scout Project: Fletcher Horne and members of his Boy Scout Troop #33 will be delivering hot catered meals to SCRMC workers to meet the requirements of his Eagle Scout award.
Funds Disclaimer: Funds go directly to a independent account at BancorpSouth (thanks Russ Griffin). Once a meal delivery is set, we will be collecting a check from the bank that goes directly to the local restaurant. No personal bank accounts are associated with this gofundme nor do we have direct or personal access to these funds. Deliveries have been pre-approved by hospital administration and we are working closely with department heads to ensure safe contact-free delivery.
You can check South Central Regional Medical Center's website for updated information on their response to COVID-19 and blog posts detailing additional ways you can help.
