Hello, I am Emily Mele, David Feigenbaum's sister.

Most of you may know that the Feigenbaum Family was one of many families affected by Hurricane Ida on Wednesday evening. They live in South Plainfield, NJ. David, Tara and Charlotte quickly experienced 6 inches of water in their brand-new basement. They had no history of any water in this area. Their next door neighbor's basement stayed bone dry. David and Tara's brother Dennis have spent the past two days pumping, moving items, and ripping out carpet, as Serv-Pro has not been able to come out.

The Feigenbaums finished their basement in only the past year, and it served as most of their home's living space. This is where Charlotte played. This is where the family watched TV, and it housed David and Tara's home office for work. The water damaged their washer/dryer and countless amounts of personal storage.

On top of everything, Tara has a scheduled C-section on September 12th.

While insurance has not yet responded, and they can't yet register for FEMA assistance, it is a strong possibility that they do not receive aid (or much aid) from these sources. My goal is to make the family feel a little more secure before they have to shift to caring for their beautiful baby boy. This should be a joyous time for them, and not a terrifying one.

Please feel free to ignore, give a little, give a lot, and give anonymously. Any bit will hopefully make them feel a little more protected in the coming weeks. Eventually, it would go toward new carpets, walls, floors, furniture and appliances.
