Celebrating Felicia Betts' Life
Dear loved ones, family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, as one of her best friends (my 4th sister) and on the behalf of Roy, her father, he has appreciated the initiation of me assisting with the memorial of our sweet sister Felicia, as many has known her as "FeFe" or "Fe" or even "Mama Fe".
Our dearest FeFe has gone to be with Jesus in heaven, rejoicing with mama Verna. She passed away in her sleep Friday afternoon, August 19th, 2016. Heaven gained a soul-winning spirit...
It feels surreal. I feel speechless and at the same time I also feel the need to be the voice. I need to be strong for my sister, best friend and godmother of my children. So many emotions going on inside of me, shocked, sad, striving to stay strong for her sake. It was just the other day that we were planning my daughter, her god-daughter's 5th birthday this weekend. Instead, I'm fighting the urge to curl into a ball to cry, now needing to be the strength to plan for her celebration of life. Knowing her, she would want me to pick myself up from off the ground and be strong for her and the family. I can already hear her saying:
"Get up, c'mon, we have souls to win for Jesus."
So, here I am wishing I could spend an insurmountable amount of time to perfect the words I want to say, but having going through the realization that time does not wait for us, I'm striking through it.
She was a woman who was:
-FIERCELY FEARLESS
-BOLD AND PASSIONATE
-INTENSELY LOVING
-INCREDIBLY SUPPORTIVE
-A GOD FEARING, PRAYER WARRIOR who had a TRUE SERVANTS HEART amongst the very long list of many other wonderful traits.
She would be there to give you a call to encourage you, stop whatever she was doing at the drop of the hat to help you move, dedicate whatever funds she had left to cook a delicious full family meal for you, pray with you in agreement always, bless you even though you may have hurt her, made you laugh, gave her life of SERVICE to OTHERS before she took care of herself.
We can bless her by honoring her legacy of service by getting our hearts right with God, stop being too busy to help one another and dedicate our lives to win souls. She has touched so many lives.
Let us honor this woman of faith and service. Especially if she has helped you in any way, please reciprocate the love and help us towards the funds to give her a well-deserved funeral/memorial/burial and celebration of life, for the apartment move/cleanup, remaining bills. Anything remaining, Roy will to give to her only son, Terry, and to initiate a project she has long been dreaming to complete that we will unveil. The little she had she gave or used to help you with. The little that you have, each and every amount is cherished and DOES count. Whether it'd be $5 to $50, or as she would say "by faith $500!"...everything counts and will be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you Fe for your vivacious life of service, life of love, life of giving, life of prayer, life of passionate, life lived for the Lord. Your precious legacy will shine on. Even though our hearts are broken we will make you proud and JESUS proud so that we reunite with you again in heaven. We love you...
