Felix " El Güero" Hernandez Hurtado

The loss of a loved one is never easy. No matter how old we are, we secretly think our parents will be around forever and imagining a world without them is something we hope we will never have to experience. My name is Catherine, and it is with great sorrow that I have started this fundraiser to help my dear friend Mari who recently and unexpectedly lost her father and best friend, Felix Hernandez Hurtado. This fundraiser will help cover the expenses of having his remains cremated and taken home.

 

Felix was an intelligent, kind, loving father and grandfather who enjoyed going to Dodger games with his daughter and grandchildren, Izzy and Jacob. Felix was the type of person who was always willing to go above and beyond for anyone and would take the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He was charismatic, had a young heart, and enjoyed making others laugh. Felix was a music lover and enjoyed teaching himself and his daughter English by listening to his favorite artists like John Denver, Linda Ronstadt, and the Beatles. Felix also took great pride in being a fantastic grandfather (or "tito" as his grandkids called him) and lived up to that role He loved spending time with them and enjoyed watching their favorite movies together. He was truly the dream grandfather that any grandchild could ever hope for. He left his home country of Mexico when he had his daughter to provide her with a better life. She was his pride and joy and his best friend. She was his "ride or die." Sadly his time with his daughter and grandkids was cut short on Monday, July 4th, when his daughter found him unresponsive.

 

Mari, much like her father, is always willing to go above and beyond for others. She takes great pride in showing up for others and feeding them with unique dishes she makes with lots of love. I met her almost ten years ago while working together, and she was always the co-worker who would try to make work feel like home and would even go above and beyond to decorate your desk on your birthday. We quickly became close friends, and she has been in my life ever since. She is someone I have always been able to count on. She has always been there for me when I needed her most, and now I want to help in her time of need. She is a single mother who is going to school and working to provide a better life for her and her children. She is taking on all of the financial responsibility of laying her father to rest, and my hope is to help alleviate some of the costs so that she may finally mourn and grieve her father in peace.

 

Mari is an immigrant herself, and all her family still live back home in Mexico. She hopes to make his dying wish of being laid to rest alongside his mother a reality. Any amount you can provide would be a tremendous help and blessing for her.

La pérdida de un ser querido nunca es fácil. No importa la edad que tengamos, imaginar un mundo sin nuestros padres es algo que esperamos que nunca tengamos que pasar. Mi nombre es Catherine, y es con gran pesar que estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a mi querida amiga Mari, quien recientemente e inesperadamente perdió a su padre y mejor amigo, Félix Hernández Hurtado. Esta recaudación de fondos ayudará a cubrir los gastos funerarios.

 

Félix era inteligente, amable y amoroso que disfrutaba ir a los juegos de los Dodgers con su hija y sus nietos, Izzy y Jacob. Félix era el tipo de persona que siempre estaba dispuesta a ir más allá por cualquiera y se quitaba la camisa de la espalda para ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban. Era carismático, tenía un espíritu joven y disfrutaba haciendo reír a los demás. Felix era un amante de la música y disfrutaba escuchar música en inglés para poder aprender el idioma y así mismo pudo ensenarle a su hija. Sus artistas favoritos eran John Denver, Linda Ronstadt y los Beatles. Félix también estaba muy orgullo de ser un abuelo (o "tito" como lo llamaban sus nietos). Le encantaba pasar tiempo con ellos y disfrutaba viendo sus películas favoritas juntos. Era realmente el abuelo ejemplar. Dejó su país de origen, México, cuando tuvo a su hija para proporcionarle una vida mejor. Ella era su orgullo y alegría y su mejor amiga. Eran el dúo dinámico. Lamentablemente, Felix falleció la noche del lunes 4 de julio.

 

Mari heredo de su papa el don de ser generosa. Siempre está dispuesta a ayudar a los demás y siempre lo hace de buen corazón. La conocí hace diez años mientras trabajábamos juntas, y ella siempre fue la compañera de trabajo que nos hacía sentir como en casa. Rápidamente nos hicimos amigas cercanas, y ella ha estado en mi vida desde entonces. Es alguien con quien siempre he podido contar. Ella siempre ha estado ahí para mí cuando la he necesitado, y ahora quiero ayudar la en su momento de necesidad. Ella es una madre soltera que va a la escuela y trabaja para proporcionar una vida mejor para ella y sus hijos. Ella está asumiendo toda la responsabilidad de los gastos funerarios, y mi esperanza es ayudar la y aliviar algunos de los gastos para que ella pueda honorar el último deseo de su padre de regresar a México junto a su madre.

 

Cualquier cantidad que pueda proporcionar sería una gran ayuda y bendición para ella y su familia.
