Felix's Fight: Rallying for Recovery

Cause:

Welcome to our heartfelt initiative. As Felix’s closest friends, we've banded together to support him during a challenging health crisis, whilst he embarks on a journey to The Netherlands to explore a promising treatment option for his medical condition.

About:

A Geelong local, Felix is known for his vibrant, and cheeky personality and positive impact as a teacher and film producer. Right now, he's battling a worsening health crisis with a challenging prognosis that hampers his ability to live independently.

The Battle:

Felix's struggle with health issues began in 2014 following a motorcycle accident. This incident, coupled with past traumas, plunged him into an ongoing battle. Felix grapples with chronic migraines, pain, and seizure-like episodes, each day presenting a new challenge to overcome.

His condition has been a relentless companion, recently taking a turn for the worse in January and resulting in a life-altering episode where we almost lost him. We're profoundly grateful to Maddy and the paramedics who swiftly rescued him. Since then, he's now faced with a challenging prognosis.

Your Role:

Enter Felix's steadfast companions, a group of friends as loyal as Odysseus' crew, rallying around him in his time of need. We recognise Felix's reluctance to seek help, a trait as noble as stubborn, much like the Greek hero himself. Your contribution could bring a monumental change in his life.

Beacon of Hope:

Felix will be treated at an innovative clinic in The Netherlands, renowned for its expertise in Psychedelic-assisted, Cognitive Therapy. It involves 2 weeks of specialised care. His Aussie healthcare team believe this progressive approach could be a breakthrough for improving Felix's quality of life.

Despite years of exploring every available treatment, Felix health team are at a crossroads, with conventional therapies to clinical trials falling short. Despite our efforts, he's fallen through the cracks of the healthcare system. Now, we're at a juncture where domestic treatment options and social support have been exhausted.

This journey to The Netherlands symbolises a beacon of new hope, and Felix is ready to embark on this journey – an opportunity to access treatments not yet available in Oz.
