It is with great sadness that we bring you this news. Tim passed away last night, 8/2/2022. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends.
Tim had no medical insurance. He has given so much to the people and the animals in our hobby, it’s time to give back. Please, consider donating what you can and share this campaign. His medical bills will be enormous, this campaign will help to give his family members some relief.
Tim kept reptiles for over four decades and had professional experience working with herpetologists, zoos, and on scientific field studies.
He was the Reptile Team Leader with Austin Wildlife Rescue in Austin, TX, with whom he had been working since 1989. He achieved the level of State Advanced Certified Animal Control Officer and held a Texas Parks & Wildlife Rehabilitation Permit. He was a founding member of the Austin Herpetological Society and sat on the board of various Herpetological Societies.
He taught snake identification and awareness programs to Animal Control Officers, City Utility Departments, State agencies, Cub & Scout groups, and schools.
Tim had an AMAZING ability to convince even the most fearful people to reconsider snakes. We have seen so many times how he spoke quietly, and somehow people see reason. Countless kids, safety offers, homeowners and snakes have benefited from having him on the planet. Anyone who likes reptiles and anyone who has learned from him should want to help Tim's family. He truly dedicated his life to making the world a better place.
