FemEng in Rwanda AFRIpad Fund
Spende geschützt
Last year, 18% of Rwandan females missed school or work due to their menstrual cycle. This loss of productivity means that Rwanda misses out on $115M per year, not forgetting the personal issues which arise (The SHE28 Campaign).
FemEng in Rwanda 2017 want to augment their outreach programme by being able to provide AFRIpad kits to women and girls they will be working with who cannot afford such luxurious items. AFRIpads are reusable sanitary pads which can be washed and re-used for over a year. If we are encouraging students into STEM, they cannot be missing out on 25% of their education!
Our funding for the project mainly comes from sponsors and grants, but we would like to allow the wider community an opportunity to be a part of this movement by contributing an AFRIpad kit to a young woman in Rwanda. Imagine the difference just £5 could make to her life by enabling her to have all 100% of her education!
