Feng Zhou Memorial Support

On March 20, 2021, Feng Zhou, my dad, was killed on the 1100 block of Johnson Road in Keller, Texas. He was walking with my mom 5 feet from the side of the road when a grey SUV “veered off the road” and struck him from behind. The SUV was moving fast and tossed my dad a hundred feet before he landed on concrete.
My dad and my mom immigrated to America from China in 1989 to study at Kansas State University. They believed this land of opportunity could provide for them and their new family. They tried their best to build a life here, delivering newspapers, waiting tables, and selling cars. They both struggled daily, leaving for work early in the morning and coming home late at night. It was a long and difficult time, but eventually they tasted the fruits of their labor. They found success in their careers, and they raised two good sons. For these reasons and more, my dad loved America.
America also loved my dad. It showed love early when it introduced my dad and my mom to two angels. Bob and Sherrill were strangers, but they helped an immigrant family with no support in this country, teaching them English and caring for them. Bob and Sherrill talked about God, shared the love of God, and lived for God. Witnessing something so wonderful, my dad and my mom had no choice but to believe.
So my dad became a man of faith. He and my mom attended fellowship every Wednesday and church every Sunday. They regularly invited Christians to our house and helped build the church. He studied the Bible diligently, and he dedicated his life to God. He praised God everyday, and even now he praises His name.
My dad was a simple man who loved simple things. He loved to be with his family, to watch TV, to cook, to eat, and to sleep after a long day of work. He loved to fish even though he was so bad other fishermen would share their fish with him. He loved to smile, and he loved to make others smile.
My dad loved unconditionally. He loved God, his family, and his neighbors--even more than he loved himself. He had a heart of compassion overflowing with love, and he loved to help those in need.
My dad is missed by not only his family, but also the hundreds of people who, because of him, witnessed something undeniably wonderful. With your donations we hope to celebrate the life of a good man and start a foundation so my dad can continue helping others. Thank you for your generous show of love and support.
Sincerely,
Hanju Yang, Albert Zhou, and Zachary Zhou
