Ferndale Food Bank Needs Us- Vans were ruined.

Tax deductible
The flooding of the Nooksack River last week hit many of our neighbors hard. And for those who rely on the Food Bank, it was especially so. Both cargo vans in the fleet were flooded due to high water, and while presumed covered, the current value of these damaged vehicles does not reflect the actual cost of a replacement delivery fleet for the Food Bank. Ferndale Kiwanis has long partnered with the Food Bank, and we are hoping, with our community behind us, that we can help replace at least one of the vans to ensure our most vulnerable neighbors have access to grocery items.
This week alone, the Food Bank will serve more than 200 clients who represent a household average of size of four people. This week, with the flooding victims and holiday meals, the number is estimated to be about 1,000 individuals. The faster we can reach our goal, the faster the loaner vehicles can be returned and the more effectively and efficiently the Food Bank may continue its vital service to our community.
Our initial goal is $50,000. These funds will to to repairing or replacing a van for the Ferndale Food Bank.
Our community has really stepped up and we are confident our friends and neighbors will support this effort to ensure our low-income senior citizens and neighbors will not go without during this difficult time. Give what you can. Share this fundraiser near and far. Thank you for being a part of helping our community heal.
