Ferret with Broken Leg

Hi animal lovers, I’m here asking for help for a friend to treat her injured fur baby ferret.

My friend Daisy’s ferret, DeeDee (4yo, he/him), had an accident last Saturday, May 20. While Daisy was out, the wind blew open the apartment patio door, and DeeDee went out onto the balcony. He was probably having a little bit too much fun, or the wind was too strong, DeeDee fell off the balcony ledge of 7th floor to the courtyard on the 3rd floor, on concrete. When Daisy came home and found him downstairs, she thought he was gone, but no, the little fighter wouldn’t give up. Daisy took DeeDee to emergency right away. The vet had a good look at him, and he was very surprised DeeDee was still alive, and there was no sign of internal bleeding. So the good news (and a miracle) is, DeeDee only broke one leg, but the bad news is, the broken part is at the root of the leg, which is a critical and tricky spot, and it’s not easy to fix. The vet gave Daisy two options: A) remove the broken leg completely, which costs about $2000CAD, or B) do a meticulous surgery and fix the broken bone, which costs about $7000CAD. Daisy blames herself for not being careful enough that she didn’t lock the patio door hence DeeDee got a chance to sneak out, and not willing to let DeeDee become a cripple because of her mistake, chose option B. She already paid $3000CAD for the emergency and is now in debt to all of her friends. Daisy already lost two other fur baby ferrets earlier this year due to cancer, please help us save DeeDee’s leg, and make him a happy little ferret again! Many thanks!

請大家幫幫忙！我朋友Daisy養的雪貂蒂蒂（四歲，男生）上星期六5/20出了一個意外。Daisy不在家的時候，大風吹開了陽台門，蒂蒂跑到陽台上去玩，結果從七樓摔到三樓中庭的水泥地上。Daisy回家發現他躺在樓下，還以為失去他了，結果小傢伙命超硬。Daisy立刻帶他去急診，醫生很驚訝蒂蒂竟然還活著，而且沒有內出血的跡象。所以好消息是，蒂蒂奇蹟似的只摔斷了一條腿，但壞消息是，斷的地方在腿的根部，很難治療。醫生給Daisy兩個方案：1）整條腿切除，費用大約$2000加幣，或是2）動一個極度精細的手術，把斷骨接回去，費用大約$7000加幣。Daisy怪自己太不小心，沒有鎖門導致蒂蒂有機會溜到陽台上，而且她不希望因為自己犯的錯害蒂蒂少一條腿，於是選擇了方案2。她已經在急診上花了$3000加幣，現在欠債累累。今年初她已經因為癌症送走了兩隻雪貂毛寶貝，請大家幫幫她和蒂蒂，讓蒂蒂再次活蹦亂跳！謝謝大家！
