# Sam Strong ❤️

This fundraiser is to benefit Samantha Genung as she fights against breast cancer. Sam and her husband Mike are extremely busy between chemotherapy treatments, doctor’s appointments, raising their three children, and working full time. The proceeds will be used on things that will help reduce stress and create more free time for Sam, Mike and their kids to spend together as a family such as providing lawn care, house cleaning, and helping with medical bills. The beneficiary shown is Danielle Martin, Sam’s sister. Danielle will be responsible for setting up these services and will receive and pay the bills so Sam and Mike do not have to handle any part of the process. The first item we plan to do is a full season of lawn care service with Preferred Lawncare for a total of $3,700 so the family can have more free time for fun together during the summer months.

Sam and Mike were married in 2010 and have three children – Ariana (9), Hudson (5), and Beckham (1). While Sam was breastfeeding Beckham in the fall of 2021, she had a painful lump in her breast. Because she was breastfeeding, doctors first assumed she had an infected and clogged duct. When she began to have pain under her arm, the doctors did further tests and diagnosed her with stage 3 breast cancer in her breast and lymph nodes. The plan was to do 8 rounds of chemotherapy followed by surgery. Sam completed her chemotherapy and while doing testing prior to her scheduled surgery, doctors found her cancer had spread to her spine and skin. Surgery was cancelled and Sam began chemotherapy again. Sam and Mike are currently in Texas at a cancer center to further evaluate her status and best route for treatment moving forward.

Sam has worked as a nurse for more than 10 years. She now needs to be taken care of the way she has taken care of others for so long. We appreciate any donations which will enable us to provide services to help take care of the Genung family.
