Smyrna Calva end of journey service

This is my beautiful Mother Smyrna Calva, 51. On March 14th, 2016 at 10:30PM, she was diagnosed brain dead.

A few days earlier on Saturday night, I came home from work. This night was different than many other nights, I was happy to come home to my Mom and show her my accomplishments. As I walk up to my apartment I see through the window that the TV is off, as I walk in she is sleeping. I go to my room and a few minutes later, I hear a knock on my door, as I come out my mom is in the restroom. Shortly after, I go and talk to her and she tells me that she wasn't feeling to well, but that she was okay and didn't need me to call the ambulance. She told me she was just going to sleep, so I go to my room. A few minutes later something didn't feel right, so I come out and check on her. At that moment my heart stopped, I checked on my mom and saw that she was unconscious on the couch. I immediately called the ambulance, I tried my best to give her CPR and mouth to mouth, but she wasn't responding to me. Her heart stopped, while the paramedics were working on her, they were able to find a pulse, but not a consistent pulse. My Mom had a cardiac arrest.  The cardiac arrest led to the brain damage, which ultimately led to the night of March 14, at 1030PM.

I am now heartbroken as my mom has been by my side my whole life. She was the best Mom anyone could ask for, there is not one thing she wouldn't do for me. My mom suffered from depression since, 2002 the passing of my Grandma, ever since then she has fought with depression and other mental illnesses. My mom is now where she always wanted to be, with her mom.

I told my brother, "now I can fly, before I couldn't because I only had one angel, one wing, my Grandma and now I have my other angel, my other wing, my Mom."

My Mom leaves behind her sister and brother Alma and Bobby Calva, her nieces Amanda, Amber and Arryn, her two sons Adam Limon and Andre Gonzalez and her grandson Athan Gonzalez.

I want to thank everyone for the support and kinds words they have provided myself and my family. Thank you everyone for the prayers, the appreciation is more than you can imagine.
