Hello my name is Lori Mockson and I am a 52 year old woman who was been diagnosed with a rare caner known as CUP or Cancer of the Unknown Primary in February of this year.
After receiving my diagnosis it was determined that the best thing for me was to leave my position at the sales job I loved very much so that I could begin my chemo therapy stress free.
In April I started my chemo treatment and left my job, and have since been sporting a very fashionable bald look. I get comments all the time about how great I look and I have been comfortable without a wig more the most part but with the decision to go back to work I decided I need one.
As, some of you may know, cancer drains you financially so I can't afford to buy the wig that I need to feel confident in my job. I want to be transformed back in to that sexy sales woman I was always saw myself to be.
Appearance is important in the sales world, and to be successful going back to the work force I need a wig that will give me the confidence I need to meet each day with strength and courage. A nice wig is not cheap and my means for buying one just doesn’t exist.
I am so thankful for the support and help I have received during this journey and without it I don’t think I would have been able to even think about returning to work. I hope this is the start of a new chapter as the chemo has been helping and I am excited about the prospect of going back to work.
Anything you can do to help me afford this is greatly appreciated. The wig is expensive but the courage it will afford me is priceless.
Thank you for reading a small part of my journey and taking interest in my life. If you'd like to share this story please use the hash tag #putawigonlori because I am so internetcool :)
Yours truly and with gratitude,
Lori Mockson
