Hello my name is Thrinley and I am a film maker or trying to become one, Living independently in Vancouver following my move from Bhutan was an unexpected journey. One of the greatest challenges I faced was discovering my true passion. In Bhutan, every day was filled with the rhythm of community life, and the path forward seemed clear and collective. But in Vancouver, I was confronted with the vast expanse of personal choice and the daunting task of finding my individual purpose. The initial years were marked by trials and errors as I explored various interests and career paths. During this period of exploration, I realized that my true calling lay in filmmaking. It wasn't an immediate revelation but a gradual understanding that grew out of my love for capturing moments and telling stories. Which brings me to proudly introduce my film for my final project at school “Ngotak" is not just a film; it is a piece of my soul, a reflection of my journey, and a story that I believe will resonate with many. The film follows the protagonist, who, like many of us, must leave everything familiar behind – family, friends, and the comforts of home – to chase a dream. It is a tale of courage, resilience, and the bittersweet reality of pursuing one’s passion against all odds. We all have had moments where we faced daunting challenges on our own, away from the warmth of our loved ones. "Ngotak" captures these universal emotions and experiences, making it a story that everyone can relate to. It is about the sacrifices we make and the strength we discover within ourselves. As a Bhutanese, this story holds a special place in my heart, it's a story that needs to be told, not just for the Bhutanese community, but for anyone who has ever felt the pull between their heritage and their dreams. It's about the sacrifices we make, the love that sustains us, and the resilience that drives us forward. Creating a film is a monumental task that requires resources, time, and unwavering support. This is where you come in. By contributing to this campaign, you are not just funding a film; you are becoming a part of a dream, a story that has the potential to touch hearts and inspire many. Your support will help cover production costs, equipment, location fees, and post-production work, ensuring that "Ngotak" reaches its full potential . I invite you to join me on this incredible journey. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. More importantly, you will be a part of a project that celebrates our shared experiences and the pursuit of dreams.
