Fibre Quest
Donation protected
Support us as we create a new annual event that aims to bring the wool industry back to the farm. We will welcome exhibitors with natural, low-impact plant & animal fibres, natural dyes, earthy crafts, shearing skills, sheep dog training and more. We want to create a weekend of events that dispel any myths surrounding agriculture and the production of natural fibres, while promoting sustainable practises.
This innovative yarn and fibre show is put on by the producers of Stitch Fest South West, the south west's largest yarn festival, in conjunction with ground-breaking eco farm Fernhill Farm who have a well-established open day and blade shearing tournament running throughout the weekend. It is particularly pertinent to run this new show at Fernhill, as they are verified as regenerative, leading the way in this sector of the industry.
Why a fundraiser?
This fundraiser has been set up in order that we can make this event fully inclusive by subsidising ticket costs and making entry to this event free. There will be option to purchase workshop places if you wish. To guide you in your donation, a ticket would cost £10, so by sending £20 you can support two people into the show :)
Business sponsorship
Businesses are invited to sponsor the show through two levels of package:
Package A - donate £500 and have your company logo feature on all our publicity (posters, flyers, adverts and banners), feature on our sponsors page on the website and also get a mention in all our press releases and articles.
Package B - donate £1000 and get all the benefits of package A, PLUS a free space at the show for your own tent/gazebo up to 25m2.
Wondering why we want to put this show on? Have a look at this beautiful FibreShed video featuring Jen and Andy from Fernhill Farm....
What will you see at Fibre Quest?
Our aim is to bring a programme of traditional textile skills workshops held over the weekend and a series of talks to inspire and educate. You can observe some of the top blade shearers in the land do their job and see sheepdog handling close at hand.
The event will showcase the use of natural fibres alongside the wool harvesting industry with a key focus on holistic agriculture - as well as talks and workshops focussed on natural fibres of different types, we will be discussing how to rehabilitate the land with animals grazing in rotation, conserving soils and enhancing biodiversity whilst harvesting replenishing resources that can benefit water, plant and mineral cycles.
