Meet Miss Figgy Pudding
Figgy Pudding came to Umbrella of Hope Rescue from our vet clinic where she was brought to be euthanized because she was different.
You can follow her on Instagram at @figgypuddingpup
She was born on October 13, 2016 as part of an "oops" litter and it became apparent a few weeks afterwards that she was more wobbly than the other puppies in the litter.
The owner tried massaging her neck to help her hold her head correctly (it is always tilted) but when that did not happen and it was time for the other puppies to find homes, she was brought to our vet clinic to be euthanized.
Thank goodness for wonderful vets who see value in lives even if they are a bit different. We were asked to step in and take her and of course we said YES.
She may have hydrocephalus with a possible cerebellar issue. She has to grow a little bit before she can have the appropriate diagnostics (as they require anesthesia) but we need to get her in to see a neurologist so we can get a plan together to help her live her best life possible.
She will be available for adoption once she has finished all of her medical specialty appointments estimated to be in the Spring of 2017.
We are looking for a home who will continue her journey on social media as we feel that she is a beautiful ambassador for animals who are just a little bit different on the outside but who can lead happy and full lives and who deserve a chance.
Funds raised will be used to pursue speciality veterinary care and advanced diagnostics. If shunt surgery is recommended, we will adjust the campaign total to reflect that amount*
Umbrella of Hope is a 501(c)3 animal rescue that is run ENTIRELY by volunteers. We receive zero government funding and we save these babies by donations from people like you.
