Fight Cancer with Amanda
Donation protected
On the 27th of July, we got news that you don’t ever think you’d hear about your 32 year old best friend.
Amanda Crossley, a friend, sister, partner, daughter and Mumma was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer.
How could this be?
With a family history of Bowel cancer, Amanda made sure to tell her physicians at every appointment. She was never once provided with any genetic testing options or sent for routine testing.
It wasn’t until her recent pregnancy with her second baby, April, she had debilitating pain which was dismissed, as a “symptom” from pregnancy. She knew something wasn’t right, and it sure as hell wasn’t heartburn.
April was born 5th of May 2022.
Amanda was now a mum of two beautiful baby girls, Lilly & April. What a amazingly beautiful and full on time for this Mumma.
Hoping her symptoms would pass now her baby was each-side, she dove into the depths of postpartum. It wasn’t even three months before she returned to the doctor with the same pain. Sick of being dismissed, she wrote lists of the symptoms and compared them to each variable from Doctor Google. The one prominent being Cancer. The doctor finally agreed to send her for extensive testing where she was given the news she was dreading, but at the stage expecting. Cancer. Stage 4.
Four weeks from the initial diagnosis, Amanda will be having her first operation, followed by chemotherapy and potentially, hopefully, more surgery.
We want to help Amanda and her family be in the best possible position for her to fight this. She is a strong woman and an amazing mother, it’s time someone looks after her so she can continue to look after those girls.
