Donation protected

[4/27] Update:

**Check https://www.socaltechforsocalhospitals.org/our-progress for the latest updates!**

With your support, we now have over 50,000 KN95 masks either delivered or en route to frontline medical responders across Southern California.

But the fight is not over, and they still need your help.

Our new goal is to raise $250,000 to put as many as 100,000 KN95 medical masks directly into the hands of medical professionals keeping us safe. Follow our website link to donate today, and help us help our medical heroes!

[3/31] Important Updates (and NEW goal):

To begin, we want to issue you a massive THANK YOU and congratulations to our community on raising over $60,000 to help protect our SoCal medical professionals with 30,000 KN95 face masks! It is inspiring to see our SoCal leaders in technology continue to step up as leaders in our community. Now, we want to build on this momentum and take things to the next level!

This effort has grown, and we have joined forces with a number of passionate SoCal residents to build on our work even further. **Please refer to our website https://www.socaltechforsocalhospitals.org/ for detailed information, FAQs, and ways to support!**

As of March 30th, we have hit our initial goal of $60k, and as of April 1st, we have placed an order for 30,000 KN95 masks from a known, reliable supplier in China. This first order is slated to arrive via air early the week of April 6th. At the same time, we are continuing to raise funds to secure more masks. Our next goal is to raise $100k to order 50k masks the week of April 6th.

--> Mission:

To rally our local community to provide urgently needed face masks to SoCal hospitals across Los Angeles, Santa Barbara (805 Business Community), Palm Springs, and San Diego. We're here to help medical professionals on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19. You can find more about our efforts and our partnership with the Count On Me Family Foundation at our website. If there were ever a time to accelerate, to acquire or lead, and to make a difference and be the difference: now is the time.

Ultimately, our effort to source more masks will continue so long as there is a need: a lagging bureaucracy and medical heroes facing needless risk on the frontlines.

--> Quick Background (more info on https://www.socaltechforsocalhospitals.org/ ):

Due to a surge in international demand and a rapidly-rising curve of cases, Southern California hospitals are in dire need of protective medical masks; every day they remain uncertain as to when federal government medical supplies will be made available to one of the hardest-hit parts of the country.

On March 30th, we hit our initial goal of $60,000, and as of April 1st we have placed our first order for 30,000 KN95 masks from a known, reliable supplier in China. We expect this first order to arrive early in the week of April 6th. We are continuing to build on our initial success and raising an additional $100,000 to place an additional order of 50,000 KN95 masks.
