Fight For Carlitos

As many of you already know, our son Carlitos, who is six, was just diagnosed with childhood leukemia on 4/20/24. The sickness started last Sunday 4/14/24, he woke up with pain in his mouth and a slight fever. The fever went up along with the pain, so we took him to the emergency room where we were told it was just a virus, to let it just run it's course and to keep alternating tylenol and motrin. He never got better, fevers were worse, and his "bones " started hurting. The 3rd trip to the hospital, and he finally had more workup, which is how this illness was found.
Carlos was diagnosed with b-cell leukemia and is in need of intense chemo therapy. We have started his first round, and we expect to be in the hospital for about 2 weeks. Once he gets released home, he will be taking oral medicines and going to the oncology clinic for chemo twice a week. The road to recovery is estimated at 2 years if all goes well.
Many of you are aware that we also have 2 special needs sons at home. Isaac, who is nonverbal autistic, with many behavioral issues. Anthony has a developmental delay and ADHD along with a speech delay. Add to the mix a new puppy! As one could imagine, ours is a very busy and demanding family schedule. With this hospitalization, it means both of us are unable to work for a while. Also, the future unforseen circumstances will cause days/weeks out of work. Bills need to get paid, kids need food/clothes/school supplies, gas to and from home, hospital and clinics, additional therapies/needs/services not covered by insurance, etc., etc., etc!!
Anything you could help to keep our family afloat while Carlos continues to literally fight for his life would be deeply and greatly appreciated. Help us care for Carlos as he makes his way back to the energetic, playful, loving little boy we all know!!
