After 2 years and $30,000 spent to ensure Mackenzie’s safety the judge ruled in Kelly’s favor giving her parent of primary residence and a fair and balanced 50/50 parenting schedule. Unfortunately, the opposing party has filed an appeal and the law firm representing Kelly will not defend the appeal without the remaining balance of $5,400 and another $5000 retainer as the appeal could be VERY costly. There is no more money to pay for attorney fees and she has to be represented. We are asking for your help to continue to Fight For Mackenzie’s Safety. #fightformack

Here is Kelly’s story in her words:
Many of you know I have been going through different battles over the last few years. Some of you know the details.
Since December of 2018 we have been in and out of a custody battle fighting for my daughters safety and well being. March 24th 2022 the trial concluded and so much truth came to light. Many decisions were made in the best interest of our daughter. All of those decisions are now being appealed by the other party.
Since March of 2020 more than 30k has been spent at protecting our daughter. Her safety was put at a severe risk and Children and Youth had to intervene in 2020. God has definitely had his hand over our situation the entire time and financially, He has orchestrated miracle after miracle with this case including the financial aspect.
At the beginning, in December of 2018 I walked into the court room without an attorney thinking the truth was evident and I would be okay. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It has cost tens of thousands and years to undo the damage that was done in a short period of time then. Our only option at this time is to continue with the law firm/ lawyer who is familiar with our complicated case. We are financially at the end of what we can handle without seeking help. Within the next few weeks I have to come up approximately 10-11k in order to continue to have legal counsel with the appeal. Our firm is requiring the balance of approx $5,400 AND pay an additional 5k balance to continue. For various reasons legal aid isn’t an option and finding a new firm could potentially cost us more with just catching up on the case/ history.
We need help.
We can’t do this alone.
I work only 16 hours a week due to various medical issues. My specialists and I have found that limited work hours has helped keep my medical issues under control but allowed me to work and not need to file for disability. Thank goodness cutting back my work hours has now kept me out of the hospital since 2018 and still allows me to keep up/ adequately care for our daughter.
Im honestly at a loss of what to say other than if you feel led to financially help us out or share this, we will be extremely grateful. I am vague in details for our safety and protection.
