SIR Boxing Club: Fundraiser For New Gym

For six years SIR Boxing Club has rented a modest space in the basement of the Arcade Business Center in East St. Paul. We service more than 200 members a year, and more than 50 percent of them are youth of color. As a Black-owned business, we know now more than ever how important it is to invest in the next generation. Our current location possesses multiple limitations for us to fully service our community. Due to us being in the basement, we are "out of sight, out of mind," and because we only have 2,500 square feet, we are severely limited in how many people we can serve and what type of programming we can offer.

Your donation today will help SIR Boxing Club owned by Coach Cerresso Fort cover renovation costs for a building he purchased to better service our youth. With more space, we can expand our programming beyond just boxing to offer our youth access to computers and more dynamic programming like de-escalation training, boot camps led by nationally recognized athletes, life skill workshops and financial literacy workshops. 

We take pride in being a safe haven for youth in a neighborhood that has high crime and low access to resources. We believe our coaches are more than just boxing coaches; we are life coaches. We mentor our boxers who are sometimes navigating personal issues, substance abuse issues and balancing parenthood, work, school and training. Through our work, we have discovered that environment is critical to development and although our location has gotten us this far, we believe we will be able to do more with more. 

Your contribution today will empower SIR Boxing Club to be able to purchase a commercial property in East St. Paul that will allow us to better serve our youth. The owner has raised enough money to purchase the property and is seeking to raise an additional $50,000 and the remaining balance on the renovation will be covered by a loan. Please help secure the future of this Black business rooted in giving back to community and help the kids we serve fight for their dreams.

SIR Boxing Club's mission is to help individuals fight for their dreams in and out of the boxing ring. We do so by development of the four c's Character, Consistency, Commitment and self-Control. 

In 2019 SIR Boxing Club won the "People's Choice Award" presented by the city of Saint Paul. 

Cerresso Fort founded SIR Boxing Club in 2015 following a career as professional boxer.
