Frankie has had a Basketball, Football or LaCrosse Stick in his in his hands since he could walk . He was playing LaCrosse for Limestone University. He had just come home from spring quarter finals NCAA LaCrosse Tournament it was the end of his Sophomore year of College with a 4 year athletic scholarship, he worked hard for these moments in Life… Fentynol was not in his play book . As many young adults and parents are tragically become aware of this issue.
Fentanyl is a global epidemic that has taken the lives of many beautiful souls. To raise awareness of this issue and help those struggling, Kelly aka Frankie’s Mom will be wearing #9 in honor of his Limestone University LaCrosse Team. She will be running the TOBAY Triathlon this Sunday, August 27th in memory of her son. This will be the first of Fundraisers, for the scholarships and awareness.
Frankie’s passions since he could walk was always Sports, Athletics, Team and all his Teammates. Frankie brought light into the lives of everyone around him with his quick-witted humor and love of life. His memory lives on through The Frankie Smith Atheltic Fund, a scholarship given to two student-athletes each year, one male and one female, at Locust Valley High School, managed by Falcon Pride. Kelly along with Frankie’s family and friends are running to encourage others to fight the Good Fight against Fentanyl and help shed light on this important issue that is taking young innocent lives. Please join in Frankie’s Fight by donating to The Frankie Smith Athletic Fund and helping two student-athletes receive a scholarship to continue their education and bring knowledge and awareness to mental health.
