FIGHT HOGKINS LYMPHOMA WITH KAYLA
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kayla’s sister,
As some of you may have heard, my beautiful, bright, energetic, bold, optimistic, and loving sister, Kayla Harvey, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 2 on February 14th. Yes, as others were celebrating a day of love, Kayla was being dealt news of a life altering diagnosis. All her plans and dreams for a future in nursing and taking care of her 3-year-old son, Landon, came to a screeching halt.
Kayla began college immediately after high school but when she got pregnant at 19 she stayed home to take care of her baby boy. Now at 22 years old, she recently went back to school to pursue an education in nursing, however, she has had to put all academic plans on hold to deal with this most frightening diagnosis. To make matters worse, Kayla has been unable to work and has no means of supporting herself financially.
While Kayla has the emotional support of her close family, the financial expenses are becoming overwhelming. When she begins chemotherapy, Kayla will lose the ability to have additional children. Doctors have advised her to preserve her eggs if she plans to have more children in the future. She is torn with the decision of beginning chemotherapy now or storing her eggs first because of the large expense associated with storing her eggs. No, young person should be forced to make this kind of decision. It is heart wrenching to watch her go through this.
Cancer has become her full-time job. There is so much to go through and to consider. Besides the numerous doctors’ visits, lab visits, pharmacy visits, etc. Kayla will lose her hair, her eyebrows, her eyelashes. She will need wigs, microblading, fake lashes, proper skincare products, scarves, hats, organic foods, just to name a few, … all of which are not possible for her to afford. As a person whose hair is her crowning glory and about which she would vlog about while sharing various hair care regimens, Kayla’s self-image will definitely be affected. Finding ways for her to feel like herself while battling cancer will be critical and a very important part of self-care and emotional well-being.
The money we raise will help cover expenses such as:
Fertility treatment
Lost income
Transportation
A quality wig to help her feel more like herself
Organic foods
Medication
Doctor bills
Home care visits
Etc.
Our hope is to collaborate in LOVE for Kayla by contributing to this fund in efforts to help alleviate some of the financial burdens of what she and her son will have to go through.
Any amount will help tremendously, from big to small.
Please pray for Kayla and send her good thoughts, and positive vibes to let her know we are all rooting for her. Please help her make it through with all of our love and support.
Graciously,
Brittany Harvey
