Dear Friends, Family, and Connected Souls,

We are the daughters of Monakaye Martinez, and we are asking for your donations to help our mom to complete the construction of her masterfully created vision.

We’ve grown up in a world where we watched our magnanimous, single mother of four sprinkle her charm through any adventure! Whether it be igniting confidence in others as a hairstylist, or encouraging us to be curious about life by venturing through the unknown, collecting friends, languages and countless amazing dogs along the way.

When first diagnosed with cervical cancer, four years ago, after receiving treatment, she recovered with a vision. An exciting vision for the future to bring family and friends together for generations to come. Creating a legacy where we may all go to seek and find inspiration.

After a clean bill of health she immediately devoted endless hours of hard work, sacrifice and dream building to bring her new and improved dream to reality.

We won’t go into too great of detail about the (new) metastasized cancer itself, because this is a GoFundMe dedicated to LIFE, and living it to the fullest while we can! As the cancer decimates any chance to save, we prudently request your donations.

Our mom has always envisioned herself as a land owner, as many of you know, and she made that come true for herself, last year! All while devoting her heart and hands to local underprivileged youth at her job.

As we've watched the best parts of her grow, she is now confident, skilled and still strong enough to build her own cabin, on her very own land. Her slice of heaven on Earth.

A slice of heaven for us all, where we may Stargaze from the patio, swim in the lake, welcome her grandsons to explore, stay grounded and connected to each other through nature, and have huge gatherings with the 20 seater bonfire!

Our Mom's home will be complete with happy dogs everywhere as family and friends band together to care for the property the way we do for each other.

So much done, and we have only just begun!

We have a cabin to build, and we want you involved Join us on this journey of legacy through chats, updates, and photos. We welcome suggestions regarding orange flowers for the garden, paint colors for the walls, paint colors for the chairs at the outdoor firepit, and more to come!

If you're interested in just how far she has come, here's a list of tasks she accomplished, and some immediate goals set for spring!!

-The struggle began with the clean up of the entire plot of undeveloped, never previously owned land by Lake Palestine, TX. Years worth of garbage and scrap metal was loaded into the Dodge van and taken to the dump over the course of months in the early part of 2021. Then, with her van, a chain, and a shovel in hand, she’s cleared 40 trees, where the cabin will sit and where she can now park on a circular driveway that didn't previously exist!

-Rid the southern part of the property of an agonizing amount of poison ivy.

-Established an address and paid over $1000 for the electricity pole and new meter. And another $1000 for the new water meter.

-Purchased many building tools/saws/drills/level/squares.

-Bought a small camper and built a carport to cover and protect it from branches that could fall from the very mature trees

-Created the footprint and design of the entire 506sq ft cabin w/loft, small balcony upstairs, and a lovely south-facing patio.

-Received quotes for septic system, to be installed in February.

The momentum that you’re fueling by way of monetary, tool and supply donations is set to take off in March, in these 3 Phases of the build:

-Footers/Flooring Joists/OSB/Patio

-Walls/Windows/Doors/Electric/Plumbing/Insulation

-Roof/Joists/Trusses/Sheathing & Underlayment/Metal

Once built, we may all hope for fresh starts when the garden buds with fragrant flowers and the freshest of veggies nourish our bodies, and we remember why she had the dream in the first place. Peace and Love.
