Fight noise abatement notice to hold events

Hi

My name is Nick current committee member (Vice Captain) at Daventry District golf club.

We have recently been served a noise abatement notice by the council after a complaint made by a new neighbour, from our room hire events, weddings, christenings, parties, for the local community, which we now have had to stop all functions. We have been supporting Daventry residents functions for over 50 years and this is the first time we have had any complaints. We also allow our club house to be used for community projects, at present we hold a Covid vaccine centre.

This has put the club under major financial stress as we rely heavily on the income from these functions to survive and remain open for the community, and to keep a long established golf going for future young players from the local area and the 200 members. We are appealing said notice but it is going to cost a lot of money in legal fees, which the club has to fund. This is another pressure to the finances of this small club. So I have started this page with the hope the local community may wish to help us in our fight, and help this small 100 year old golf club survive, and continue to be there for the community for another 100 years.
