Fight on John!

Hello Friends, Family, and Community,
As many of you know and for those of you who don’t, I’d like to introduce you to my dear friends, John Ramirez, his wife Crystal, son Christian and daughters Zoey and Riley. I would say they are your typical family, but John has never been close to “typical” in his life. If the word “extra” had a big brother, thats how I would describe John. Known for running 100 miles a minuet for most of his life, he has always been the life of the party, and loves to entertain family and friends. A die hard Rams, Dodgers, and Lakers fan, It’s a wonder he married an Angeles baseball fan, but somehow they made it work. John and Crystal have been going strong and creating memories with their kids since before they were married. Diagnosed with colon cancer several years ago, one could only imagine it would slow him down. Nope, not one bit! John to this day remains steadfast that he doesn’t have time for cancer. John seemed to be doing well; managing chemo, radiation and surgeries like the LA championship teams he loves so much. For awhile, John experienced clear scans and life looked like it was getting back to normal. Making the most of his health, the family traveled and enjoyed sporting events.
Unfortunately things took a wicked turn and what began as colon cancer, spread to his liver, stomach and lungs. To see what cancer has done to John’s physical body can only be compared to a prisoner or war or holocaust survivor. I understand what it means to say those things. But there is a commonality between that comparison. Much like those survivors and prisoners of war, John has the same unwavering desire to live, persevere, and fight another day. When I look at John I don’t see a weak man, I see the strongest man I have ever know. I see someone that has the will, spirit and sheer stubbornness to fight. As sick as John is he still continues to work and provide for his family.
To add this families health struggles, their youngest daughter, Riley was diagnosed with type one juvenile diabetes and went into a diabetic coma while on vacation in Florida, summer of 2021. I’m sure you all can imagine the extreme medical expenses this family has incurred over the course of the last several years. Just this month, Crystal tragically lost her father who has been battling his own illness for quite some time. The bills continue to pile on and the emotional tole continues to rock this amazing family. If hard knocks and struggle had a face, it would be John and Crystal. I am asking for (along with prayers) that you make a donation to the Ramirez family to support John’s battle with cancer and assist, Crystal as she wades through the mountain of medical debt and keeps her family financial safe.
It’s the bottom of the ninth, bases are loaded… we need a miracle and community support! If you know, John like I know John, he is going to knock it out of the park and continue to battle cancer and win. If anyone can do it, it’s John. Let’s join forces and be the team he and his family deserve. Let us all open our hearts, wallets, purses, swear jars, couch coins, and GIVE generously to this brave legend and warrior. Let’s support our friend and his family who has always supported us.
