Fight For Xavier

Donation protected

Never in a million years would I imagined this would ever happen to Xavier. If I could, I would endure and take away all the pain and sickness from him. Our world will never be same.

I know that it isn’t a great time financially for everyone right now because of Covid. But we, Cynthia and Steven would like to ask you to donate if you could.

Beginning of January 2020, I gave birth to our Lily girl and could not work for most of year with Toronto Lockdown in place. Beginning of January 2021, Xavier has been diagnosed with Leukaemia and has been in and out of Sick Kids Hospital. And since then, Steven has taken off work to stay at home to watch our 1 year old Lily. He is our main provider and this has affected us
tremendously.

Your donations will be helping our family every way possible. It will help us with the commuting fees every time we go down to Sick Kids Hospital (We are there a few days of the week, sometimes more if Xavier has to be admitted back in), our bills, and living costs. We have run through our funds and savings through Covid and it has been financially hard since Xavier got sick.

Anything at all is greatly appreciated at this time. If you are unable to Donate at this time please consider becoming a Registered Donor for Blood, Stem Cells, and Organs for people in need. And or Sharing Our Story on your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other Social Media platforms to help bring more awareness to Xavier’s Story! ♥️

* OUR STORY *

On January 11th, 2021,

I had taken my son Xavier Pesito to see his
paediatrician. I thought we were going in for his annual routine check up and a follow up for
some of his previous symptoms. Our
paediatrician told us not to be alarmed but we
should head straight to Sick Kids Hospital. After being seen and having some blood work done, the doctors came in and confirmed what was about to be my worst nightmare. My son was
diagnosed with Blood Cancer, also known as
Leukaemia. I cried in disbelief and shared the
news with my husband via FaceTime. At this
moment, the doctors don’t have an exact
diagnosis of his type of leukaemia, what stage
he’s in or the kind of treatment he’ll be getting.
All we know right now is that he will eventually
need a Bone Marrow Transplant. At this time I
would ask you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we face this new reality. Thank you
for taking the time to read our story ♥️

If you are between the ages of 17-35, and
especially if you are of mixed race, please
consider being put on the donor list for stem
cells. Stem cells are based on ethnicity, so mixed
people are under represented for possible
matches. Sometimes less than 1% chance of
finding a match, just due to low donors of mixed race.

I got a lot of questions on how to become a Donor. If you’d like to become a Donor please
click on the link below or go to blood.ca and click on the stem cells page. There you will find the
requirements and what you need to know to
become a Donor. You may not be an exact match to Xavi but I appreciate those who are willing to donate for other kids and people in need. You
can change your mind in the future if you decide you don’t want to be a Donor at any point.

Believe it or not, Donors of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity’s are needed right now! This is an
important issue! The majority is of Caucasian
backgrounds and there isn’t enough diversity in Donors. So please if you are willing to become a Donor and donate, please don’t hesitate and
start the process. It’ll be a process so please start that as soon as you
can.
