Fight the Fight for Joelle Andorfer

Baby Joelle Andorfer was born September 2, 2018 at 12:10PM, weighing 7lbs 4oz. Joelle is suffering from Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN); PPHN occurs when there is abnormally high pressure in the blood vessels supplying the lungs from the heart. Simply put, Joelle is struggling, fully dependent on a machine to function.

Rachel(mom), Adam(dad), and Charlie(big sis) are Joelle's biggest fans and have not left her side. What they believed to be the best day of their lives, adding a new family member to their world, has become a nightmare of not knowing what is next for their sweet baby girl. Although Joelle has the tremendous support from her beautiful family, we all could rally to help this beautiful family fight. 

Twenty-four hours after birth, Joelle was transferred from Wilmington, NC where she was born, to UNC's Newborn Critical Care Center  (NCCC) in Chapel Hill, NC, 2.5 hours from the family's new home. Thankfully UNC's NCCC has provided top-notch care for baby Joelle, allowing her mini triumphs in a short time-frame. Although the triumphs have been celebrated by family and friends, the fight is far from over.
