Fight with Baby Charlie

Charlie Besteman is a sweet and wonderful 7-month-old boy. His smile will light up a room, and his laugh is contagious. He loves horses and dogs, just like his parents. On February 4th, little Charlie went into for a doctor’s visit for what seemed like a minor ailment. The doctors noticed that little Charlie’s head was larger normal and scheduled an MRI to get a better look. At that time, test results revealed a cyst on the brain and Charlie went in for immediate surgery to drain the cyst. The surgery went well, and little Charlie was on the mend. A week later, the incisions on the skull began to leak and Charlie was rushed back to the emergency room. The stitches were repaired that evening and an MRI was scheduled for the following morning.

From there, Brandon and Kaylie stayed by little Charlies bedside praying over their son. Prayers were being sent to the Heavens from all over the world. That very night, Charlie began to run a heavy fever and the doctors began to grow concerned. Little Charlie then underwent a spinal tap, where it was found he had contracted bacterial meningitis. Charlie is currently on many mediations, a breathing tube, and is undergoing blood transfusion. He is fighter and will come back out of this.

Many have asked how they can support the Besteman family. We ask for prayers for Charlie, the doctors caring for him, and for Brandon and Kaylie.
